Alverno
College, a Catholic women's college in the Franciscan tradition, offers an

Our
Department of Religious Studies has an opportunity available for a full-time
Assistant Professor in Biblical Studies beginning August 2010. The position is on track for continuous
appointment and opportunity for promotion in rank.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses on The Gospels of
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; The Biblical Worldview; Christology-Images of
Jesus; and The Experience of God. Candidates with a secondary competence and
willingness to teach courses in Christian ministry, spirituality, and the
humanities will be especially considered.
Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and
collaborating in on-going development of curriculum.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in
the New Testament is required. Candidates close to completion will be
considered. College-level teaching
experience is preferred. The successful candidate will also have a willingness
to work in a highly collaborative environment with a commitment to teaching in
an innovative, outcome-based curriculum.
