UNIVERSITY OF THE INCARNATE WORD, a Roman Catholic university in San Antonio, Texas,
announces a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
in Biblical Studies.
Position will begin August 15, 2008. Preference will be given to
candidates who can teach a wide range of courses in both Hebrew Scriptures and
Christian Scriptures and who are familiar with post-colonial, feminist, race, and
cultural criticism. Applicants should be familiar with Catholic theological
traditions and be supportive of the mission of the university, particularly its
commitment to Catholic social teaching and social justice. Responsibilities
include teaching 4 courses per semester at the undergraduate level. Ongoing
research and publications appropriate to one’s area of concentration are
expected, and university teaching experience is preferred. Applicants should
