Travel Grants

I. A limited amount is available to assist CBA members from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America who would otherwise find it difficult to attend the annual CBA meeting. Preference will be given to those applicants who propose a research report according to the usual procedures and whose proposed reports are accepted by the program committee. A committee has been established to evaluate applications from such members and to allocate the funds.

Those interested should write a letter to the CBA Executive Office that includes the following:
1. Name, address, telephone, fax, email, institutional affiliation, and the year for which you are applying.
2. Brief Curriculum Vitae.
3. Indicate whether you have attended previous CBA meetings, and when, how you hope to benefit from attendance, and whether (if an active CBA member) you are offering to contribute a Research Report (a 40 minute paper; offer to include title and 100-word abstract).
4. Brief description of the circumstances that make it impossible to attend without funding, and the amount necesary to attend.
The deadline for application is February 15th.

II. CBA Members are invited to offer names of established biblical scholars from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America for presentation of major papers at the annual meeting of the association. The normal rules will apply for such things as deadlines, etc. No more than one scholar will be invited on these terms in a given year, and all invitations will be at the discretion of the program committee. Those nominated need not be members of the CBA, but preference will be given to members.
